How does a SailTime Power Membership work?
SailTime Power is just like your gym membership, but on the water: you join at a location near where you live, pay a monthly fee, use the equipment, wipe it down when you are finished, and leave - without all the ownership responsibilities. SailTime Power also provides an online scheduling system and an electronic check-on and check-off system that makes it easy to schedule your boating time and ensures the boat is always clean and ready to go. SailTime Power is perfect for anyone who wants a more affordable way to cruise on a new power boat.

What is the maximum number of fractional boaters on a given yacht?
Eight. All the available time is made available to the eight Members via our on-line scheduling software. Learn how the scheduler allows everyone to get the boating times they want by visiting www.sailtime.com.

What is the cost?
This depends on the size and location of the boat and your fuel consumption. Please contact your local base owner for pricing information in your area.

Will my costs go up if there are fewer Members on the boat?
No.

How much cash will I be required to pay when I join SailTime Power?
This depends on the size of the boat and the location. Typically, there will be a $2500 initiation fee that covers your training when you join SailTime Power. Contact your local base owner for pricing information in your area.

What is the length of the commitment?
The minimum commitment is 12 months for non-seasonal bases or 1 season for seasonal bases. You can choose to pay your entire season in advance or choose a monthly payment option over 12 months.

Do I need to sign a contract? Can I see it?
Yes. Call or email your SailTime Power representative.

Am I a part owner of the boat as part of the agreement?
No. Members share use of the boat but are not boat owners. If you'd like to take advantage of our smart ownership program, please speak to your local SailTime base.

Are there any other maintenance/upkeep fees that will be assessed?
Yes. In addition to paying for you gas, you will be charged an hourly engine maintenance fee. Because the engine maintanance is expensive, the hourly engine rate ensures that members only pay for what they use.

Can two people share one membership?
No. For insurance reasons, the number of Members is capped at 8.

How do you schedule the boating times?
Our exclusive and proprietary on-line scheduling software allows you to reserve and swap schedules 24/7 in real-time. The software allows you to select a minimum of seven sail times per month and an unlimited amount on an as-available basis.

Is Friday a weekday or weekend sail time?
Friday is a weekday. Friday night is a weekend evening sail time.

Can I see the boat ahead of time?
Absolutely! Just call to schedule an appointment.

What are the specifications of the boat?
Each SailTime Power vessel is extensively outfitted with state-of-the-art instruments, air conditioning, electric windlass, galley items and other features that make boating easy and enjoyable.

Can I make multiple reservations in a row? Can I stay overnight on the boat?
Yes. You can reserve up to 14 sail times in a row. This lets you to enjoy a long trip. Bases operating in seasonal environments have to place restrictions on reserving more than 7 sail times in a row during the height of the season.

Who is responsible for washing down the boat?
Members wash down the boat after each use and remove their trash etc. Our Bases use E-ttendant, a wireless PDA that members use to check on and check off their boat. If the previous member left something amiss, they will be sent an email from E-ttendant informing them of their oversight. This ensures that your boat in pristine condition each time you step aboard.

Who is responsible for re-fueling and pump-out of the yacht?
SailTime Power does both at no extra charge to the Member. However if you reserve an extended outing some bases may require you to re-fuel and pump out yourself. Speak with your local base.

How do you handle irresponsible / uncooperative / non-paying Members?
The Member agreement provides for the removal of Members who abuse SailTime Power's policies.
Can I use the 24-hour rule to continuously get back-to-back sail times so long as no other Member is using those sail times?
Yes The 24 hour rule is designed to let Members use their boat more than their set allocation on an as-available basis.

Can I become a Member first and then upgrade to become an
Owner Member?

Yes. Members can request an upgrade to Owner Member status. However, because the Owner Member program is very popular, there is usually a waiting list of interested Members. Requests are handled in chronological order and upgrades are issued once a new boat is required in the fleet.

This seems too good to be true!
Well, it is good! And it is true! SailTime Power is the global leader in fractional boating, providing you with easy and affordable boating options for sailing yachts and power boats in your local waterway.
