Holiday Gifts and Giveaways!

So, just in time for the gift giving season,
two holiday treats are currently being offered. The first is a chance to win a Captained Charter for four, which includes an overnight stay, on one of the sailboats in either the Jersey Shore, Philadelphia, Havre de Grace, Annapolis, Washington DC or Virginia Beach SailTime bases. Captain Cherie Starner, the Owner/Director for the operation at the Jersey Shore and in Philadelphia says, “This will be a great chance for our guests to “try before they buy.”  She continues, “By taking a sail and then sleeping on board overnight, the winner will get a peek at our great sailing waters, a firsthand experience to see the vessel’s great amenities and, how well we maintain our boats for our members.” Starner concludes, “…Not to mention all the fun that they’ll have along the way!”
The other “Holiday Specials” available now are some great discounts on sailing classes. Since all of the bases in this region are ASA (American Sailing Association) schools, it’s a great opportunity for sailors, or those with a sailor on their gift list, to get some savings on the purchase of a gift certificate for a class they can take anytime next season. Plus, when a purchase is made for three or more courses, the gift buyer gets a free offshore lifejacket and a pair of sailing gloves to give as an extra bonus. Kristin Diviney, the Sales Manager for the Virginia Beach and Washington, DC locations, said “We often hear people say that it’s their dream to do extended cruising in the future. Many of them don’t know where to begin or how to get started. So, we always offer the suggestion that they get instruction through our certified training program.” She concludes, “With these discounts, sailors can stop dreaming and start planning for the next sailing season! Not only will we create a customized Gift Certificate to wrap up, but we’ll also send along the textbooks, study guides and a logbook, which the student uses to start building their sailing resume. It becomes a nice gift to open!”
Whatever you do, sign up for the charter giveaway. Then, choose the base you want to sail out of, to find the class discount choices that are available. Since specials vary a bit by location, check the base of your choice for details. Entries for the drawing and discounts on classes both have a deadlines of 12/31/13. Any questions can be answered by sending a message to [email protected] (or contacting the chosen base directly) or by calling 877-724-5846.
“We’re always interested in growing our community of sailors and in sharing our love of being on the water,” Starner states.” She concludes,  “In addition to our SailTime membership program, it’s really great to be able to offer this way for people to “test it out” and to get some education to see if sailing is really something they want to add to their lifestyle. We’re convinced, and we’re pretty sure they will be too!”
