This month the SailTime fleet is excited to welcome our newest addition, an 2023 Excess 11 – Warren Peace. This vessel has made quite the journey to us from Annapolis, Maryland. She was delivered to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to be loaded by crane on a cargo ship headed for Ensenada, Mexico through the Panama Canal. Once on the west coast, she made her way north to San Diego for some TLC and finally further up the coast to her new home at Pier 39. SailTime member and now boat owner, Scott Warren, is looking forward to sharing this boat with a select group of members and utilizing it for new and exciting club events like the upcoming SF waterfront Lighted Boat Parade in December.
The vessel is equipped with all the latest electronic instruments including a Raymarine chart plotter and other helpful tools you’d expect to see. On deck you’ll find a traditional mainsail with a stack pack system, roller furling jib, and electric winches. The interior welcomes you with a spacious salon area great for hosting groups or getting out of the elements. The layout includes a large, luxurious private cabin with its own head on the starboard side and two additional cabins, plus another head on the port side. Thanks to dual engines, this 38’ vessel handles extremely well in close quarters which makes docking a breeze.
Warren Peace will be available to members who complete a 2 day Catamaran Cruising Course (ASA 114) which will cover safe handling, familiarization with equipment on board, docking and anchoring practices, and sailing techniques. Students who have completed the ASA pre-requisites will be able to obtain their ASA 114 certification after this course. Students with comparable sailing knowledge and experience will also be able to complete this course without the ASA pre-requisites, however they will not receive the 114 certification until those pre-requisites have been met.
