National Safe Boating Week is May 16–22, 2026 and SailTime and PowerTime locations across the United States are reminding boaters that safety isn’t just a one-week focus—it’s a commitment that spans the entire boating season.
With both seasonal and year-round boating clubs now in full operation, SailTime and PowerTime continue to prioritize safety at every level of the member experience. From working with certified U.S. Coast Guard trained captains to providing comprehensive onboarding for new members, and ongoing safety check-ins before every departure, franchise owners ensure that every outing begins with preparation and awareness.
“Safety is foundational to everything we do,” said Todd Hess. “Our goal is for every member, guest, and family to enjoy their time on the water with confidence.”
In recognition of National Safe Boating Week, the SailTime Group—representing both sail and power boating—encourages all boaters to review and follow these essential safety guidelines:
- Ensure there are enough properly fitting life jackets on board for every passenger. Children should wear life jackets at all times.
- File a float plan, including departure time and expected return.
- Never operate a boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Be prepared for changing conditions and unexpected situations.
- Brief all passengers on the location and use of safety equipment.
- Stay alert and maintain a proper lookout at all times.
- Even when you have the right of way, never assume another vessel will yield—always act defensively.
By reinforcing these simple but critical practices, SailTime and PowerTime aim to make every day on the water safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
