SailTime Houston Celebrates A Decade On The Water

Family-Owned Sailing Club Marks a Decade of Seamless Boating in Kemah

SailTime Houston, the area’s premier fractional sailing club, is proud to celebrate its 10th anniversary this summer. Located in the heart of Kemah and serving the broader Houston sailing community, SailTime Houston has grown into one of the most respected sailing destinations on the Gulf Coast—thanks in large part to its top-tier fleet, passionate ownership, and award-winning sailing school.

Owned and operated by the Macaluso family since December 2017, SailTime Houston has flourished under their leadership. What began as a promising business acquisition has since transformed into a thriving community of sailors, students, and enthusiasts. The Macalusos—Evan, Amanda, and their extended family—have grown the club’s footprint and impact significantly over the last seven years.

“Our success is rooted in the belief that sailing should be both accessible and exceptional,” said Evan Macaluso, co-owner. “We’re incredibly proud of what SailTime Houston has become—a place where people can fall in love with sailing without the hassle of boat ownership.”

At the core of SailTime Houston’s appeal is its fleet of 10 luxury sailboats, made up of late-model Beneteau Oceanis and Jeanneau Sun Odyssey yachts, ranging from 35 to 49 feet. Each vessel is professionally maintained and fully equipped, offering members a premium experience whether sailing Galveston Bay for a day or a long weekend.

A Sailing School That Sets the Standard

The club’s American Sailing (ASA)–certified sailing school has been a major driver of growth and community engagement. The school provides beginner-to-advanced sailing education with a personal, hands-on approach. Many members start with a course and go on to become confident skippers and lifelong sailors.

“Our sailing school is where it all begins for many,” said Evan.“We love helping people take their first steps on the water—and watching them grow into seasoned captains.”

Why Kemah?

Located just 30 minutes from downtown Houston, Kemah’s protected waters and quick access to Galveston Bay make it an ideal sailing destination. The area offers year-round boating weather, vibrant marina culture, and easy coastal cruising that appeals to both seasoned sailors and those new to the sport.

Community. Adventure. Freedom.
