As a SailTime Member, you’ll select a specific sailboat that fits your style, budget, and schedule. Once you’re assigned your boat, it becomes yours to sail each and every time—just like it was your own. In fact, many members affectionately refer to their vessel as “my boat,” because they develop a personal connection and familiarity with it over time. This sense of ownership encourages a higher level of care and comfort than you’d find in a typical bareboat charter. It’s a sailing experience that feels personal, reliable, and uniquely yours.
What We Offer You
Join The Easy, Hassle-Free Sailing Club
Each SailTime boat is shared by a maximum of eight “Classic” Members, ensuring fair and balanced access for everyone. Time on the water is evenly distributed throughout the month, and scheduling is made simple through our easy-to-use online calendar. Just log in, choose your desired sailing times, and your boat will be prepped and waiting for you at the dock.
When you arrive at the marina, you’ll complete a quick check-in using our automated “Embark” system to ensure the boat is in great shape and ready to sail. After that, it’s all about you, the wind, and the water. Whether you’re planning a solo afternoon cruise, a weekend getaway, or a sunset sail with friends, your time onboard is yours to enjoy.
And when you’re done, you’ll help prepare the boat for the next member—part of the shared respect that makes our community so special. It’s an incredibly smooth, rewarding system that turns boat sharing into boat belonging. Members reserve sail time in advance—up to a full year out—and can also snag bonus trips on short notice using our mobile-friendly system. It’s sailing on your terms. - Classic Members enjoy at least 7 sail times per month, plus unlimited “just go” when you book within 36 hours
- Lite Members sail 3 times a month – perfect for weekend sailors
- Premium Members get up to 14 sail times monthly and can take a boat for up to 7 consecutive days and nights

SailTime Virginia is open March through December 15, for a full season of bay sailing.
Member agreements are structured as annual contracts (with the option for monthly billing), allowing you to join anytime during the season and still be able to get a full season of sailing.
