SailTime Door County, a premier fractional boat club, is celebrating its fifth anniversary with an exciting new expansion: the launch of PowerTime Door County. Led by dedicated base owners Bill and Suzie Wons, who have built a vibrant sailing community, this new addition will bring powerboating enthusiasts a hassle-free way to get on the water.
A Passion for Sailing Becomes a Thriving Business
Bill and Suzie Wons discovered SailTime after selling their employment screening business and seeking a new venture that combined their love of working together with Bill’s lifelong passion for the water. Inspired by a sailing experience in St. Lucia, Bill set out to bring an innovative sailing concept to Door County.
“SailTime offers a different way to experience boating. It’s a great option for those who want the joys of sailing without the full commitment of ownership,” said Bill. “Seeing our members grow in confidence and even take their skills to places like the British Virgin Islands has been incredibly rewarding.”
Expanding with PowerTime Door County
Building on their success, the Wons are launching PowerTime Door County, which will offer fractional memberships and ownership options for powerboats. The first addition to their PowerTime fleet is the Aquador 300HT, a premium 30-foot power cruiser, which has already generated strong interest from boating enthusiasts.
“With SailTime, we introduced a new way of sailing to Door County. Now, with PowerTime, we’re expanding that vision to powerboating, making it easier for people to explore the Great Lakes without the hassles of boat ownership,” Bill explained.

A Premier Boating Destination
Door County, often called the “Cape Cod of the Midwest,” offers an unparalleled sailing and boating experience. With its scenic bays, historic maritime culture, and vibrant local attractions, it has become a sought-after destination for boaters. The natural protection of Green Bay’s waters makes it an ideal location for both sailboats and powerboats.
Wave Pointe Marina, the current home of SailTime Door County, offers convenient access to open water within minutes, along with top-tier amenities such as a restaurant, hotel, and tiki bar. As PowerTime grows, Bill and Suzie are exploring additional marina options in Sturgeon Bay to better serve powerboaters.
A Family-Run Passion Project
SailTime Door County is truly a family business. Suzie manages scheduling, maintenance, and logistics, while their son Garrett has recently joined to assist with boat maintenance. Their fleet reflects this personal touch, with boats named after family members: Alissa Joy, Leah Helen, and soon, Garrett William.
Looking Ahead
The introduction of PowerTime is just the beginning. Bill is focused on filling memberships for the Aquador 300HT and preparing for additional power cruisers. The expansion is not just about growing a business but about transforming the way people experience boating in Door County.
“We are the first to bring fractional powerboat ownership to this area. We’re educating the market and offering an exciting, cost-effective way for people to enjoy boating,” said Bill. “I could retire, but I don’t want to! This is my passion, and it’s the perfect fit for me.”
