FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Stavoren, Netherlands – SailTime CEO Todd Hess is proud to announce the launch of SailTime Netherlands, opening this spring in Stavoren, under the leadership of Bart Zwager, a lifelong sailor and seasoned businessman. This expansion introduces the innovative concept of yacht sharing to the Dutch market, offering a flexible and affordable alternative to boat ownership.
“One of the most exciting aspects of running SailTime in the Netherlands is introducing the concept of boat sharing to a community largely unfamiliar with it,” said Bart. “For many Dutch people, the idea of sharing a boat rather than owning one or chartering it is new, which presents a fantastic marketing challenge. I’m excited to help people discover how this
flexible and affordable boating option can be a game-changer.”
Bart’s father introduced him to sailing at the age of 3 and soon thereafter set him and his brother on the water on their own for hands-on experience. Over the years, sailing became more than just a hobby—it became a lifelong passion. Bart’s goal with SailTime Netherlands is to share that love for sailing with others, and introduce them to the beauty of the Dutch waters. “The waters of the Netherlands are ideal for sailing,” Bart added. “The area offers a variety of conditions and destinations that will appeal to both new and experienced sailors.”
SailTime Netherlands will operate on the IJsselmeer and Markermeer lakes, with access to historic towns, Friesland’s serene canals, and the UNESCO-listed Wadden Sea. The fleet begins with a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 350, a boat suited for both beginners and experienced sailors.
The SailTime Group, headquartered in Annapolis, MD, USA will soon mark its 25th year in the boat sharing industry with over 30 franchise locations in the US, Australia and now Europe. For more information about SailTime go to www.sailtime.com.
