Lifelong avid boater.  Operated vessels in Southern California, S.F Bay area, Northern Coast of California, Pacific Northwest from Astoria north up to Puget Sound area and Desolation Sound, southern Vancouver Island.  I grew up boating in Southern California in Santa Monica Bay, Catalina and the Channel Islands. My family then moved the boat to Southern Vancouver Island where we cruised and fished.  After college I moved to the S.F Bay area and did mostly lake boating until 2011.  I then got back on the ocean, fishing and crabbing out of Bodega Bay and then moved my boat to Richmond in San Francisco Bay. Sporadically in summers we chartered boats in the San Juan Islands and out of Canada into Desolation Sound.   In 2020 we moved to Anacortes where I have been doing yacht deliveries, boat orientation training and overall training for new boat owners.  I currently own a trawler that we use for cruising in the San Juan Islands and up into Canada whenever possible.  Most of my time is spent training new vessel owners and boat charterers.  The majority of this time is spent teaching docking procedures, line handling, and securing the vessel to the dock. Then general boat operation, anchoring, mooring balls, general navigation, radio operation, trip planning, weather, currents and tides.  Power management while away from the dock.  It is great to share what I have learned about the San Juan Islands and help people have a great experience on their boat or a charter boat.
