West Coast Base Owners Regional Meeting

With Spring in the air, the new CEO of the SailTime Group, Todd Hess, flew to the West Coast to begin a new round of regional meetings this week. The Base Owners from San Francisco, San Diego, Channel Islands, Marina Del Rey and Orange County all gathered together in Newport Beach at the Orange County base office for all day discussions about a range of topics.

Todd, who is also a Base Owner himself, at Baltimore and Havre de Grace, MD, gave a lengthy presentation of projects he has inherited and initiatives he hopes to push forward in 2010 and beyond. Much of the day was spent discussing the implementation of the new base pages which have much more flexibility built into them for each base to individualize more. Next up, is the roll out of a completely new calendar for Members which has been undergoing testing for several months.

The Base Owners themselves made presentations on a variety of subjects including local marketing strategies, fleet maintenance and social networking on the web. Day one concluded with a great dinner at a waterfront brew pub.

The following day, the group went sailing and discussed various maintenance challenges, products and generally “messing about on boats.”

Have you been thinking…how come they get to have all the fun? You could too you know…there are still many prime locations available to open a sailing and/or power base in North America. We are especially keen on opening Seattle, Vancouver and various locations in Florida. But all in all there are literally dozens of good local metro water locations where SailTime should be.

Next up in the regional meeting roster is the Northeast, planned for April 6-7 in New York City.
