Base Location
Our base location is protected from weather and yet provides immediate access to the river, intra-coastal, and offshore sailing within minutes of leaving the slip. Historic and beautiful St. Augustine city center is just a few minutes drive away.
All our members have access to enjoy all the marina amenities such as the boater’s lounge, boater’s facilities, swimming pool and three eateries in the harbor. We invite you to come and experience the wonder of sailing among the dolphins and manatees! These are just a few of the fabulous reasons our SailTime members love our Northeast Florida SailTime base location.
Chuck and Roe Ann Points
Chuck has been sailing since he was 15 years old and have over 25 years of sailing experience. He has sailed Asia, Europe and in a variety of different sailing environments from Lake Superior to the South China Sea.
In addition to holding a Masters 100, GT Captain License with an Aux Sailing Endorsement, Chuck is a certified American Sailing Association (ASA), Instructor. In 2007, he was named an ASA Outstanding Instructor of the Year. His passion for sailing and being on the water extends to being under the water as well since Chuck is also a dive instructor. He oversees the sailing operations and serves as the main Delivery Captain.
Rose Ann has been sailing for most of her life. She began her boating life in the Northwest cruising on the Columbia River on board a 27′ powerboat. She spent weekends and vacations on the water with her family. In 1996, she moved to Florida to live aboard a sailing vessel – Morgan Out-Island Ketch – with her three children. She and her family live aboard for 13 years. She has sailed along the East coast from Maryland to the Tortuga and has sailed up the west side of Florida. Rose Ann has spent the majority of her time sailing while traveling throughout the Bahamas and in the Caribbean such as Puerto Rico’s Spanish Virgin Island and British Virgin Island as well as other Caribbean locations.
She has been associated with SailTime Northeast Florida and St. Augustine Sailing over the last 6 years in a variety of positions. Rose Ann holds a 50 GT US Coast Guard masters license with Aux Sailing Endorsement. She serves as our SailTime Base Manager. In addition, she is a licensed broker and enjoys helping others reach their sailing goals either with ASA sailing classes, SailTime Membership or owning a New and Used boat.
St. Augustine Sailing Information
Our SailTime base office shares its space with St. Augustine Sailing where there is an ASA sailing school, captained charters, bareboat charters along with membership sailing. If you are coming to St. Augustine for sailing classes or just for vacation, remember there is always time to get out on the water.
However, if you prefer to spend some time in town after your sail, historic St. Augustine only two miles away.
This provides our guests, students, and sailing members another opportunity to walk through the quaint shops in downtown St. Augustine which allows you to visit the many of the historic attractions in the area, and enjoying the numerous restaurant available.
