The Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410 has a full-length chine to maximize interior volume and enhance the performance of this beautiful yacht.
She has a modern look with the aft-raked bow and the forefoot almost clear of the water even at rest. The boom has been lowered to provide easy access when storing the mainsail. The 410 also sports side decks that gently slope from the deck level to the cockpit sole, making the transition in and out of the cockpit easy. This means you do not have to climb over the coaming to get out of the cockpit, and the helmsman has more freedom to move.
The position of the primary winches really makes grinding much easier, especially when the headsail is fully loaded. It also has twin wheels and twin rudders that are self-aligning to provide a smoother ride with better control. The deck configuration makes it easier to helm from an outboard position, which makes a big difference in the way you steer, allowing you the freedom to wander forward to check the genoa trim.
The cockpit is wide and social, while the interior below is open and light. The U-shaped galley is mid-ship forward and offset to port. The salon seating wraps around the starboard side, featuring extra seating and lounge area slightly to port and just forward of the galley. If extended out, it can also be used as additional seating to accommodate guests when the deluxe salon table leaf is utilized. The lounge can also be extended out by sliding down to become a single berth and provides ample storage underneath.
A good-sized chart table is abaft of the galley. Although chart tables are used less these days, sailors are asking about a desk to make it easy to work from home. This work area with curved seating allows for a comfortable seat with ample storage and shelving for navigation or work needs. The forward-facing and location of the chart table also contribute to the social aspect, since it looks across the entire galley and salon, making everyone feel included.
A large head compartment is across the navigation station to starboard just forward of the starboard aft cabin. There is the option to have twin double cabins aft or one double cabin and increase cockpit stowage. The master suite forward is a generous double berth, large and rectangular, with the option for it being centrally mounted or offset to starboard. The offset layout benefits from an en-suite head and shower compartment.
