Learn to Sail at Boston, MA

Black Rock Sailing School is the training arm of SailTime Boston. It is nothing like the other sailing lesson opportunities in Boston, MA. A 3-time recipient of the American Sailing Association’s “Outstanding School of the Year” Award from 2008-2010, Black Rock is Boston’s premier school and sailing club. Focused on quality over quantity, they excel in a number of areas.

The sailing school uses only new and young sailboats that are modern designs, easy to sail, comfortable, and above all, safe for sailing lessons. Offering ASA courses from 101 to 106, their fleet ranges from new Harbor 20 and Colgate 26 daysailors to a new Hunter 49 luxury cruising sailboat, the largest training boat in Boston Harbor.

Black Rock uses only experienced, committed, professional adult instructors who demonstrate the patience required to teach. Being an expert sailor alone doesn’t make one a superior teacher! Black Rock’s lead sailing lesson instructor, Brenton Lochridge, is a two-time ASA “Outstanding Instructor of the Year.” The schools’ three other instructors each have more than 5 years of teaching experience.

The SailTime Black Rock operation also offers flexible class scheduling, guarantees wind, and even offers the most comfortable PFD’s. And when the sailing season ends in Boston in the fall, the sailing school operates all winter long in the Virgin Islands!

Make plans now to come and learn how we can help you learn to sail and enjoy the cruising yacht lifestyle in Boston at SailTime.
