SailTime Miami has become a primary sponsor of Urban Sailors along with Travelocity, Bahamas Celebration, Ramada Resorts and BKR Media. Urban Sailors has been set up in South Florida to assist in the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active duty military personnel and veterans via sailing lessons and sail outings.
Thanks to a matching grant from SailTime Miami, every dollar donated to Urban Sailors that is dedicated to sailing lessons will be matched by the Miami base by providing sailing lessons and facilities for the military personnel.
The general public is asked to become “Crew-Members” of Urban Sailors by donating $50 to $200. For doing so, Crew Members will be included in VIP parties, events, regattas and other functions throughout the year. They also receive valuable gifts from the sponsors as a way of thanking them for their support of the cause.
Our armed forces are returning home from overseas duty with a variety of PTSD and physical injuries they will carry for the rest of their lives. Urban Sailors wants to give thanks to them for their efforts and to provide distraction and solace from the horrors of war these fine men and women heros have been subjected to, many times serving several extended tours of duty in battle zones.
