Toronto Kicks Off The Sailing Season with Two Events May 1-2

Toronto is kicking off their 2010 sailing and boating season with a bang! Also known as GTA, or Greater Toronto Area, this base features three convenient locations for sailors to choose from; Toronto downtown, Port Credit and Oakville.

Sign up for a membership now through May 1 and you will receive a $500 gift of sailing gear including shirt, shoes, inflatable pfd, gear bag and more. What a great way to get started.

Opening weekend kicks off on Saturday May 1, when prospective members are welcome to visit the Port Credit location to see all of the GTA SailTime boats in one place from 1 to 5pm. during the Open House event you can meet the base owners, climb on the boats and learn more about lessons and memberships.

May 2 is a day devoted to members. It begins at 9am with boat owners meeting up with the Marine Police for safety inspections. At 11am the general membership gets involved with a variety of boat orientation presentations and hands on sessions. After lunch, if the weather permits, the afternoon will be spent on the water. It’s a great way for members to get reoriented and meet other members at the same time.
